The Digit-al Dozen inspires each other, Day 2: Drip Marble!

(Press samples and affiliate links ahead!)

Hello!

Today is the second day of The Digit-al Dozen's inspire-each-other week, where we pick manicures from other Digit-ers that inspire us to recreate.

As you know, I've been into drip marbles lately--I'm not very good at water marbles, plus I prefer the more random, geode-like effects of the drip marble. They're relatively easy and not nearly so messy...usually...but I'll get back to this point...

When I saw this mani Tiffany from Polish And Paws did, I fell in love--the colors are just so vivid, and the aqua goes with the purple so beautifully:

I didn't have the exact polishes she used, so I did the best I could to come up with something similar. I used The Lady Varnishes Let's Get Dangerous and Here's Where The Fun Begins, from her Disney Afternoon collection; for the contrast I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Night Flight and Silver Stallion (aka Silver Sweep). Here's how mine came out:

What do you think? The colors aren't exact, but I think I captured the spirit of it pretty well. I'm really happy with it except for one thing--I will never again do a drip marble with a dark blue. I went that route instead of black, and it was a mistake--I forgot how prone blue polishes are to staining, and it took me FOREVER to do the clean-up on this. I do think the effect was gorgeous, but I don't think I'll be repeating it. :)

I'll be back tomorrow with another recreation--in the meantime, check out the other ladies' manis, linked below. :)

Big hugs,
M. xoxo
